The story line

The story follows an unfaithful wife who unwittingly resurrects the zombie of her dead lover, Frank Cotton. Frank returns with a hunger that cannot be sated and is soon pursued by the Cenobites, a cadre of sadomasochistic beings from another dimension who are intent on returning him to their realm. The film was recognized for its shocking imagery and detailed universe, landing on Bravo's 100 scariest movie moments at number 19.

Clive Barker

Born on 5 October 1952, Clive Barker is an English author, filmmaker, game designer, and visual artist, renowned for blending fantasy with horror. Rising to prominence in the mid-1980s through a series of short stories, Barker’s work expanded into novels and screen adaptations, most notably Hellraiser and Candyman. He pushes boundaries by combining visceral horror, lush imagery, and deep mythology.
